May 2018 Highlights
May is a Busy Month
May was a very busy month, Mother’s Day was on May 13th for all mothers across the district and get to relax on Sunday.
In International Falls and Rainier, all the kids in Koochiching County gets off school earlier for the long summer. The kids in the US has a longer summer school breaks than in Canada.
Victoria Day was a holiday, all the Canadian people heads over to the Falls to spend the day.
On Memorial Day, most of the fishermen from the States came into Canada for EWC in Emo and the border was very busy for those fishermen that came for the Emo Walleye Classic and to those that spends time at their cabins in Canada.

Community Living Fort Frances and District held it’s annual Service Awards Luncheon on May 7th. Many great accomplishments were celebrated including Laureen Vandetti who celebrated 35 years of service with the organization. Community Living thanks all of their employees for their service and dedication, we are lucky to have such great staff!
Celebrating Community Living Month BBQ
May 23rd, 2018
Community Living Fort Frances and District hosted a BBQ to “Celebrate Community Living Month” on May 23rd. The event was held at the newly built Rainy Lake Square in downtown Fort Frances, with local performers Ryne Strachan and Socorro Galusha singing and playing the guitar. The BBQ was open to anyone wanting to stop into enjoy the food, sunshine and music. Was a great day!

Laureen Vandetti retired from Community Living Fort Frances and District
ending her 43 year career with us. To celebrate a BBQ was held at Hudson Drive. Congratulations on this great accomplishment we wish you all the best!
